Abstract
This report records the results of an archaeological evaluation. The evaluation was reduced from two trenches to one, due to the presence of live services. It was however, still demonstrated that archaeological structures and deposits survived on the site. The chronology of the observed remains was not reliably established, although given the background of the site it is almost certain that the lime-mortared structures that were identified relate to 18th- or 19th-century buildings associated with Sheffield’s cutlery industry. They appear to correlate with structures mapped in 1853 and are located within the manufacturing section of a former Knife Factory mapped in 1896.
