Abstract

This report records the results of an archaeological strip, map and sample excavation. The investigations highlighted the presence of several medieval ditches and pits which appear to mostly relate to agricultural activity, with some domestic waste likely derived from dwellings that may have been located to the south of the site towards New Romney’s medieval core. A known 'moated enclosure' was also excavated and finds retrieved from the lower fills were of post-medieval in date.
